Do You want To Bulk Up
Fast?
5 Components For
Gaining Muscle Fast
Author:Kris Frederiksen
1) Push Your limits:
Go for the heavy weights and do not
perform more than ten repetitions.By lifting weights beyond ten reps, you are actually preventing your muscles from
growing immensely. You would be emphasizing your slow-twitch muscle fibres, which in turn will only allow for very
small muscle growth. In order to build big muscle fast, you need to maximize the number of muscle fibres in every set
of reps.It is recommended to start out with a workout partner to eliminate any safety mishaps.Remember:go hard or
go home!
2) Shorter Workouts:
By completing the same
workout in less time, you are challenging your body, and increasing your work capacity. If you benchpressed 200lbs.
with a 90 sec. rest last week, but this week you benchpressed the same amount but with only a 60 sec. rest, you are
actually getting a better workout.Take shorter rests, and move from one exercise to the next quicker, and you will be
taking your workout to a whole new level. You will probably be surprised at how out of shape you feel. So,get out of
your comfort zone and into a whole new body!
3) Do Not Exhaust Your
Muscles!:
In order to gain muscle quickly you need to stimulate your muscles into growth.Once your muscles
experience an "assault" (stimulus),your body will be forced to create new muscle to prevent future "assaults".This
is how your muscles adapt, and thus grow. So,a good rule to abide by is once you have out-performed your last
workout,it is time to move on to a new one.
4) Limit Your Sets Per
Workout:
It is your last set of reps that contributes the greatest to your muscle growth.Doing more than
3-5 sets per muscle group is only going to exhaust your muscles and delay your recovery ability to hit the muscles
again. In your last set you should do at least 1-2 extra repetitions or lift 5-10 extra pounds than your last
workout. The result being that you will have sparked your muscles into growth.Move on.
5) Challenge Your Body
Through Your Workouts:
If you really want to gain big
muscles fast, you need to amp up your workouts, and do not allow your body to become accustomed to the same amount of
work.It will hit a plateau, the same as if you were trying to lose weight, you constantly need to be challenging
yourself.Your body is designed to tolerate stress. The concept is:assault and let your muscles get bigger.Assault
and let your muscles get bigger.
You need to be increasing your strength by a minimum of 5% every couple of weeks. If
you continue in this format,in six months you should be twice as strong as you currently are.It is a good idea to
track your progress, and aim for doubling the amount you lift now to what you will be lifting six months from
now.Train smarter not harder!
